Service Writer

B-Towne Automotive Services, a local automotive service and repair shop with an excellent reputation and nine service bays, is seeking a highly motivated Service Advisor to join our team and help us continue to grow the business. We are a friendly, clean and efficient repair and maintenance facility with a focus on excellence.

You will be working as an integral part of a growing team, greeting our customers in person at the counter and by answering incoming telephone calls. You will be scheduling appointments and creating a service repair order based on the customer's requests, and then keeping the customer informed of the status of the repair. You will also be responsible for communicating with the technicians, and using our shop management software to build quotes prior to explaining any diagnosed issues we have found to the customer to obtain their authorization to proceed, leading to you ordering parts and scheduling repairs as necessary.

Job Duties:

• Listen to customer's description of symptoms, clarify description of problems, check vehicle maintenance records, and examine service schedules.
• Assist customers with setting service appointments, and keep them informed of the status of their vehicles which are currently in for service.
• Provide and explain estimates to customers.
• Open and close work orders and order parts in a timely manner.
• Research vehicle recalls, service & repair information with manufacturers' websites.
• Be able to sell needed vehicle maintenance repairs in an honest, ethical, courteous & professional manner.

Job Requirements:

• Must have excellent customer service experience.
• Must work closely with vehicle repair technicians.
• Excellent verbal, written and typing skills.
• Able and comfortable with multi-tasking.
• Possess a reasonable understanding of the automotive repair business.
• Clean driving record, and must pass drug screen and background check.
• General understanding of vehicles and their parts.

Education:

• Must have a High School diploma or greater.
• Experience with auto mechanics and parts, computer systems and customer service.
